A Buttero lives in the leather that darkens, the crease that deepens, the character that becomes only yours.
We didn't design that. The hide did. The tannery did. Time did.
We don't sell you a finished product. We sell you the start of one.
Wear it like you mean it. Stay to Last.
In 1974, Mauro Sani set out to make the best riding boots in the world — from a region most maps overlook. He named the brand after the butteri, Maremma's own cowboys, and built it with their same stubbornness.
Keeping alive the traditions of Tuscan shoemaking is the core of our business. Our shoes are made by expert artisans who are the best at what they do. We proudly preserved our handmade crafting process from the very beginning.
On September 25, 1974, Mauro Sani founded Buttero with a clear goal: to create the best riding boots in the world. Today, fifty years later, we celebrate not only the success of that dream, but also the passion, family tradition, and craftsmanship that have defined us.
