Fifteen years in the Buttero archive, and the Tanino is still the first thing people point to — an essential model defined by raw-cut edges, two stitch points at the toe, leather laces and brass eyelets.

The upper is vegetable-tanned calf leather in cream; its irregular colour reflects the nature of the hide, deepening with every season worn. A spare pair of laces is included, with a genuine-rubber sole underfoot. Made in Italy.

It runs wide — most people take two sizes down from their usual sportswear size.

Includes an extra pair of leather laces.

Each pair comes with an extra set of leather laces, specially finished to achieve a supple yet substantial feel. They can be easily trimmed to the desired length, to refresh a product made to last.

Product Care

To care for your Buttero shoes, gently wipe away dirt with a damp cloth or sponge, then nourish the leather with a light application of natural wax, buffing with a soft cloth to restore its shine. Keep your shoes away from excessive heat or moisture. Should they get wet, blot away any excess water and allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature.
